The Polypropylene (PP) Coating Production Line for Steel Pipes (3LPP) is an advanced anti-corrosion solution designed to provide superior protection for pipelines operating in harsh environments. Widely used in the oil & gas, petrochemical, offshore, and high-temperature transmission industries, the 3LPP system offers exceptional mechanical strength, chemical resistance, and long-term durability.

Compared to traditional coating systems, 3LPP technology delivers enhanced performance at elevated temperatures (up to 110°C and beyond), making it the ideal choice for demanding pipeline projects where reliability and longevity are critical.

Three-Layer Structure of 3PP Anti-Corrosion Pipe
  • Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) Layer

Technological Process Flow

Upload pipes → Pipes Conveyor → Rust Removal by Shot-blasting → Intermediate Frequency Heating → Epoxy Powder Coating → Adhesive Coating → Polypropylene Wrap → Water cooling → Pipe Edge Beveling → Unload pipes.

Automated Production Stages
  1. Surface Preparation (Shot Blasting)
    Steel pipes are cleaned to Sa2.5/Sa3 standard to remove rust, scale, and contaminants, ensuring optimal coating adhesion.
  2. Induction Heating
    Pipes are heated to the required temperature to facilitate proper FBE application.
  3. FBE Powder Coating
    Electrostatic spraying applies a uniform epoxy layer onto the pipe surface.
  4. Adhesive Application
    A copolymer adhesive layer is extruded or sprayed over the FBE layer.
  5. Polypropylene Extrusion Coating
    The outer PP layer is applied through extrusion, forming a thick, durable protective shell.
  6. Cooling System
    Pipes pass through controlled cooling (water or air) to stabilize the coating layers.
  7. Inspection & Quality Control
    Includes thickness measurement, holiday detection, adhesion testing, and visual inspection.
  8. Marking & Handling
    Finished pipes are marked, conveyed, and prepared for storage or shipment.
